This morning’s surprise eviction was reminiscent of a war zone as police in riot gear used sledgehammers to clear the way for the bailiffs. The clashes left six people injured and resulted in 23 arrests. The entire operation was estimated to have cost 18 million pounds. And this is why your “gypsy” costumes aren’t cute.  This took place less than ten minutes from my home. I roll my eyes whenever people smirk in reaction to me saying I’m an Essex girl (from Basildon, to top off their hilarity), but this? I am truly ashamed and embarassed by this.
